A Friday 55

The sky cries; its tears fall faster, as the drumming rhythm increases. Outlines blur, and foliage cowers under the deluge.
But clouds creep away, and only intermittent teardrops drip and plop about house and garden. The outdoor face, full of wet day sadness, peers through my windows, to see if I sympathise with its sorrow.

55 words and  1 picture hot off the press for G-Man today!

  2. Why, Jinksy! What a picture you paint! I like it very much. Yours is the first 55 I've read (in the wee hours Friday morning), and I'm touched. It's nice to be out and about visiting folks again, and yours is a breath of damply fresh air.

  6. Lovely take on the prompt - raining from the heavens here today.

  7. What I have to say will make no earthly sense, but the combination of painting and words gives me a full-on melancholy centered around my old grade school. It is a somewhat good thing, as I enjoy the odd wallow.

  8. What beautiful Imagery!

In India rain is always celebrated as we have it after sweltering heat! rain is always welcome in my country!

  9. Love your painting, Jinksy. You really captured the look and feel of a rain shower in both picture and words. We finally got some much-needed rain so for once the rain felt joy-filled :)

  12. Rain would be anything but a sad thing here--the sky would be hysterical with laughter, maybe. ;_)

  14. Beautiful prose. We are on a similar wavelength. In India (that's where i live), monsoon is a cause for celebration. But too much of a good thing is not good either. The monsoon makes an exuberant entry but after some times her visits start looking like a tired chore. It becomes very, very gloomy. It has been like that for 5 days continuously now. So that's why i am feeling so down.
